SCGA CHAMPIONSHIP REGISTRATION INFORMATION
5th SCGA WOMEN’S MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP:
Goose Creek GC, Jurupa Valley
July 10-12, 2023
CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT:
- Single elimination match play.
- 16 players, comprised of exempt players and qualifiers, will compete in the championship.
- After the 16-player field is established, players will be seeded based upon a combination of two ranking systems: (1) SCGA Women’s Player of the Year Points List, and (2) World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Monday, July 10: Round of 16
Tuesday, July 11: Quarterfinals & Semifinals
Wednesday, July 12: Final
All non-exempt players will participate in an 18-hole, stroke-play qualifying round.
QUALIFYING ROUNDS (18 Holes):
Thursday, July 6: Brookside GC (Course #2), Pasadena
Thursday, July 6: Temecula Creek GC (Oaks/Creek), Temecula
ELIGIBILITY: This championship is open to amateurs who are members of a current SCGA member club with a Handicap Index of 9.4 or less at the time of registration.
EXEMPTIONS: A maximum of 12 exemptions will be granted from the exemption list by clicking here. A minimum of four (4) spots will be available in the championship through qualifying. All exempt players must still meet eligibility requirements and register online for the championship prior to the entry closing date.
ENTRIES OPEN: Wednesday, January 11, 2023
ENTRY DEADLINE: Sunday, June 25, 2023
INFORMATION & PAIRINGS: Complete tournament details, including information about practice rounds, pairings, starting times, and yardages played, will be emailed and posted on scga.org/wmpchamp after entries close.
ENTRY FEE: $140
LATE ENTRIES: The SCGA accepts late entries, assuming space is still available at the given event. Late entries will be subject to an additional $20 fee and can only be processed over the phone or through email.
REFUND POLICY: Requests for refunds prior to the entry closing date will be honored less a $20 administrative fee. Requests received after the entry closing date and 48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.
